The next stage is 35 Km. of Mountain Bike, from the Cerro Guido Area to the Torres del Paine National Park entrance at Laguna Amarga, greeted by the people from CONAF. This next section is on a curvy gravel road, up and down hills, snow can be seen on the neighboring slopes…
The good news is that the atmospheric conditions are getting better minute by minute, it’s possible to see at this point the granite sphinxes of the Paine Massif.
From the Laguna Amarga entrance, racers and organization were transported to , they have been supporting PATAGONIA EXPEDITION RACE for the past two years.
During this first night of this years winter, after day one of the race, teams were given a nice surprise by the organization, at , awaited a great supper, everybody from racers, press to organization had rooms in this beautiful Hostel, with a unique view of the Cuernos del Paine and the Grey Glacier. The racers made very positive comments on the hospitality and attention received in this place, which has a privileged location in the park.

Before 10am teams get into the cold water in the Serrano River, the water temperature is a bit lower than 4°C. Beautiful day, clear blue skies allow witnessing the impressive mountains of Torres del Paine National Park. Once again the start is very fast, long and energetic paddling, moving through the freezing winter climate of Southern Patagonia, the downriver paddle is on.
