From CP8: CMT Deseado the forests continue, but now along steep mountain sides, up to an altitude of 600 m, where they disappear giving way to rock and the peat bog. Then less steep slopes arriving at CP9 valle cascada, and after that rocky terrain over the pass with a spectacular view of "Paso de las lagunas" and lake Fagnano... weather permitting. Further on, coming down the Rio Alonso valley to CP10 with the same name.

The route continues southwards through the valley and crosses dense forests covered in moss, till the peat bogs on the north side of Fagnano lake, carrying on to CP11: Río Azopardo, where the organization has a Tyrolienne cable to cross the river where the Fagnano river meets the Almirantazgo bay. Then they will continue in the water, peat bogs, and forests on the south side of the lake to start the ascent "Paso de las Lagunas", the Laguna Pass. On route to the pass through the Darwin mountain, more virgin forests and plenty of peat bogs.
