February 20
16:20 hrs. we have seen the group made up of members of the teams 3-MAD SCIENTISTS and 7-DAP ANTARTICA , both out of the official race, a few kilometres north of PC7 Río San Pedro , it seems that they again have made up their own route, without following the " Route Guide for Racers PER 2006 " which the race organization has given to each team and which is the official route, established to maintain the equality that is required in any type of race; we are referring principally to the distance travelled and the difficulty of the terrain.

After 22 hrs. the group made up of members of the teams 3-MAD SCIENTISTS y 7-DAP ANTARTICA, ambos fuera de carrera, arrive in Punta Arenas. They are welcomed at the PATAGONIA EXPEDITION RACE operations centre, and even though they are out of the official ranking we still celebrated their arrival with cidre (an apple drink that is typical of the Magallanes region, similar to champagne). CONGRATULATIONS!! Michael Graz (Germany), Wessel Cronje (South Africa) , Jonathan St. Claire (South Africa) , Nicolas Pivcevic (Chile) y Pablo Fernandez (Chile).

February 21

7:43 hrs. team 1-BUFF arrives at PC7 Río San Pedro , they have not slept but will start the next bicycle stage in a couple of minutes.

11:35 hrs. 2-ALBERTA ADVENTURE RACING is in PC7 Río San Pedro .

13:16 hrs. members of team 1-BUFF become the Winners of the third edition of PATAGONIA EXPEDITION RACE 2006, CONGRATULATIONS!! Chemari Bustillo (Captain , Spain), Javier Rodríguez (Spain), Juanjo Alonso (Spain) y Ann Meidinger (Germany) are welcomed with warm applause at the finish line, located in the Plaza de Armas of Punta Arenas, capital os the Magallanes region.

16:20 hrs. The Canadians of team 2-ALBERTA ADVENTURE RACING arrive at the FINISH LINE!!! CONGRATULATIONS!! Mike Melnick, Sean Verret, Katrina Rosen y Dan Wolfrom. They are in Second Place!!!

February 22
17:01 hrs. from our observation point 23 km south of PC7 Río San Pedro we are told that 10-FEED THE MACHINE/IBEX are on their way, at a very slow pace because they are really tired.

Later in the afternoon we hear that 10-FEED THE MACHINE/IBEX will spend the night in the area of San Isidro Lighthouse, 9 km from PC7 Río San Pedro.

February 23
In 2 hours 10-FEED THE MACHINE/IBEX travelled along the coast to PC7 Río San Pedro , arriving at 12:15 hrs.
We expect them to start the final cycling section at 13:45 hrs. Making an estimate, they should arrive at the finish line at about 17:00 hrs.

CONGRATULATIONS!! 10-FEED THE MACHINE/IBEX Christian Burke (USA), Jayson Browne (USA), Bernice Pierson (USA) y Jon Bonwick (England), have arrived at the FINISH LINE!! at 16:50 hrs, coming in in 3rd Place.

February 24
Back in Punta Arenas, the capital of Magallanes Region, the teams have had enough time to take a rest and win new energies in preparing to the prizing ceremony and party in Kamikaze discotheque.

At 19:30 p.m. begins the emotional prizing ceremony with the government autorithies invited as well as private companies that have cooperated to give a good ending to the wildest epedition race of the world, the PATAGONIA EXPEDITION RACE, on its third edition.

*Teams Out of Race (FC). Non published times, they can not be compared for having done a diferent route in the two longest trekking tracks, with different distance and difficulty.
The time estimations done for the organization for PER 2006, have been very satisfactories; the estimated time was 9 days for the optimum team ans 12 days for the slower team.

From Punta Arenas, in South Patagnia, a big and warm greeting to all the people that has followed this event and to the racers that have participated with such an entusiastic and happy will.

...We will be seeing in PER 2006...yes WINTER PER 2006!!!

...The wildest race now has a winter version!!!
